(Frightfest Day 2)
Superb anthology movie that kicks the corpse of found footage around with gleeful abandon. The first tale is great, and every other is better than the previous.
Excellent film that breathes new life into the greying body of found footage. For me, it was never going to top the twisted savagery of the first story, but every story is a little gem.
Not including the wraparound, the first was nicely brutal, the second (while still good) fell a bit flat, but that did lead nicely to stopping for a smoke break. The second half, just back to back awesome. I think my favourite may be the third, but the forth, definitely the creepiest, runs it close. The effects heavy finale to the fifth was great and more than compensated for too many VHS glitches (the fifth's Achilles heel).

ReplyDeleteInventive, confident and a few real scares, particularly when things went paranormal!
