The Police Are Blundering In The Dark [La polizia brancola nel buio]

It takes a special kind of stupidity to decide the best way to uncover the killer in your movie is to have a character invent a machine that secretly photographs people’s thoughts, the kind of stupidity you’d think unsurpassable, only here they manage it by having another character simultaneously uncovering the killer by far more conventional methods rendering the moronic thought photographing plot device utterly unnecessary.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Impossible to sum up in a pithy throwaway sentence.

The Terminator

I rewatched this classic with the teenager who was enraptured by the time travel plot, gently scoffed at the full blown romance that takes place over mere hours and full on belly laughed at any dated, shoddy as fuck special effect. Which was most of them.

The Killer Is One Of 13 [El asesino está entre los trece]

Thirteen people attend a dinner party where it is revealed that one of them is probably a murderer in a film that just doesn’t have enough space for that many characters. Only a handful get murdered, less than that actually get back story as to why they’re there and eventually one is arbitrarily picked as the killer because he drives his car off a cliff.

Furankenshutain no kaijû: Sanda tai Gaira [Frankenstein's Monsters: Sanda vs. Gailah/ The War of the Gargantuas]

A lot of people in rooms having serious conversations about Frankensteins, something they appear to have confused with Bigfoot, interspersed with ace bits where blokes in costumes throw each other through buildings and lob toy tanks about. Particularly liked the giant octopus.

Trauma [Violación fatal]

Copious nudity, gory throat slitting and a barely hidden mystery all strongly suggest a Giallo, but it’s Spanish so it’s not.
