It's Alive


Given the fanged, killer baby premise, the film adopts a surprisingly serious tone which also has the unfortunate side effect of killing the whole affair stone dead, a further irony given the title.

    Started off strong, but never really went anywhere (or at least nowhere fun). A disappointing Cohen.

    A decent idea for some dumb fun told dead straight with little to no visual flare and almost every character doing things because the story needed then to even though it contradicted their character. As close to Howling 3 as this year got.

    Fell asleep towards the end, but I had been enjoying the serious approach, and the dad's steadfast committment to killing his mutant son.
