Cowboys & Aliens

A cinematic insult consisting of hackneyed stereotypes being nudged around a plethora of trite plot conveniences.

  1. I liked the headline in the Daily Mash "Film called 'Cowboys and Aliens' turns out to be utter bloody rubbish."

I really, really like the new Planet of the Apes. Except for the humans. Stupid humans. What with this, X-men: First Class and the "English riots" I'm done with humanity.

  2. A movie (story and plotting) combined with a film (the realistic depiction of the wild west) that jar against each other and never quite work, possibly due to there being 9 writers and around the same amount of producers. I wanted to like it and there were elements of it that I did (the brutality of the aliens in particular), but trying to make hokey seriously just didn't work. The same movie executed with Iron Man's sense of fun would have been much better.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was excellent.
