    Sort of sounds like "laden down with cod mysticism and a constant overbearing voiceover explaining what's happening and why it's mystical" is what makes it a good take on the serial killer tale.

      I've added an extra 'unfortunately' in there just to be sure. Wouldn't want people getting confused about my hardline stance on explanatory voiceovers.
