Thor [3D]

Managed to win me over surprisingly effortlessly from thinking it was preposterous grand scale bollocks to extremely enjoyable awesome bollocks. Although it should be noted that somebody needs to buy the cinematographer a spirit level.

  1. A former star of Home and Away headlines a Kenneth Branagh directed action movie about the Norse God of Thunder being banished to Earth and becoming a super hero. It really shouldn't work, but thanks to a tone mostly pitched perfectly between pompous and camp it does with aplomb. Great fun!

  2. Thought Natalie Portman did a really good job in what could have been a nothing role. Hot and bothered! That "female gaze" is still very unusual in Hollywood cinema, not least a male-orientated superhero movie.
