Hugo [3D]

Of all the directors to try their hand at 3D it's a (very welcome) surprise that Scorcese is the one to show its full potential. Even more breathtaking is the way he then goes on to marry 3D to the intense fascination held by early cinema. I smiled a lot.

  1. Very enjoyable, but felt at times like a veiled plea to keep 35mm alive. Possibly. (This appraisal is based on no facts at all.)

Also proves once and for all that child actors live or die on their ability to independently move their nostrils and lips.
