Not sure why the fuss over the violence, there's been far worse.

    Very good. I seemed to like it a touch more than Al and Noise. I didn't really get the Columbo thing when watching it at all, I just found it a great character drama with a fantastic central performance and different, interesting, motivations. The violence was much tamer than expected. The Alba scene was still uncomfortable, but more because of Affleck's reaction while doing it.

    A great adaptation from one of my favourite books. I like how they didn't change the plot so it "made sense" and wasn't "batshit crazy"

    I found the violence pretty disturbing, but I agree that was mostly down to the way Affleck played it. Also really liked all the Mahler on the soundtrack
